BLOG TOUR & GIVEAWAY ~ Feel The Rush, by Kelsie Leverich

Feel The Rush
Kelsie Leverich

Synopsis
The New York Times bestselling author of The Valentine’s Arrangement continues her sizzling series with a new novel of a plan that goes awry—in the arms of a soldier…

Picking the wrong men is a talent Meagan Mitchell has perfected. She’s sweet, confident, beautiful—and single. With her thirtieth birthday sneaking up on her, she needs a new plan. No more Mr. Wrongs or Mr. Bads, it’s time to find Mr. Safe…

Army Captain, Reed Porter, lives for the thrill—he’s an Airborne Jumpmaster with a rush addiction. He’s sexy and playful, and he quickly tempts Meagan with his rich Southern drawl and sinful looks. But slowing down and settling down are not in his agenda, making him exactly the type of man Meagan wants to avoid…

As their undeniable attraction heats up, Meagan has to decide if she’s willing to risk everything on a chance at love with a reckless charmer. Is she brave enough to bet her future—and her heart—on Mr. Thrill? Or will Reed finally learn that the feeling of a safe landing is just as addicting as the rush of the fall?

My Review

“Am I wife material?”

Meagan Mitchell is single, on the verge of thirty-years-old, and in a serious dating rut. All she wants is someone safe, predictable, and ready to settle down. However, all she’s found is a slew of unavailable men who will never commit. In an effort to get a fresh start, she moves to Georgia with her best friend Eva. Meagan quickly learns no matter how far you run, you can’t escape your past.
“I want to live as much as possible, baby,” he whispered softly, thinking she was still asleep. “You never know when it will be gone.”
Meet Meagan’s past: Reed Porter. A one-night-stand from eight years ago, he is anything but safe. He’s a thrill-seeking adrenaline junkie who would never consider marriage and a family of his own. Clearly, he’s everything Meagan doesn’t need, but she can’t help but be attracted to the hot sex from her past.
“He wasn’t just kissing her, he was claiming her, taking her with his mouth, which was consuming her in a way she was craving, in a way that she needed—in a way that she needed from him.”
Meagan must decide whether to follow logic and find someone ready for forever or give into the undeniable passion still lingering between Reed and her.
Kelsie Leverich has delivered another incredible read in her latest novel, Feel the Rush! I was glued to my e-reader and absolutely devoured this story from start to finish in a matter of hours.
I loved the connection between Meagan and Reed. There was something playful yet sexy that made me root for them along the way. Reed is one irresistible book boyfriend who delivers some serious eye-opening, jaw dropping lines that make it hard for Meagan (or any female reader for that matter) to resist him.
“I want to see every emotion that crosses your face when I bury myself inside you.”
“Good girl,” he whispered as his mouth moved over her ear. “And now I’m going to give you what you need and you’re going to scream my name.”
The story and characters were relatable and realistic. There were even a few unexpected moments, which had tears running down my face before I even realized I was crying. I loved every bit of this story! Feel the Rush is the perfect balance of spice, humor, and emotionally tender moments. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid read that builds you up without breaking you down (too much).

Excerpt:

The sound of her heels echoed quickly through the quiet surrounding her as she walked down the walkway to her apartment. She felt her heart pick up the pace and fall into rhythm with the soft click of her steps.

Reed leaned away from the door as she got closer. She was nervous, her chest felt like it was constricting around her lungs, making it nearly impossible for her to breathe.
She soaked him up as she stepped in front of him. His light blue T-shirt pulled against his chest and hung just below the waist of his worn, tattered jeans. She loved the way he looked in jeans and his brown flip-flops. She smiled.
“Does that smile on your face mean you’re happy to see me?” he asked, his eyes raking over her appraisingly. He had never been ashamed to look at her. Never once.
She sighed. “I’m always happy to see you, Reed.” No matter how mad she was at him, she couldn’t help it.
His face contorted in confusion.
“You shouldn’t have come to the restaurant and you—”
“I’m not sorry, Meg,” he interrupted. “I’ll never be sorry for any moment that I get you pressed against me. Do you know how hard it was for me to leave that restaurant without dragging your ass along next to me? It took every single ounce of restraint I had not to pick you up in my arms and carry you away from him.” The muscles of his jaw started working beneath his scruffy face. “Especially with you in that damn dress.” His stare grazed her skin, physically heating the path it took, and regardless of the fire that had set flames to her skin, she shivered.
“You told me to go, so I went. But I will never walk away from you willingly.” His feet took one step toward her and her pulse picked up. His chest lingered near her beasts and she instantly craved the feeling of it pressed against her.
His fingers slipped through her hair and his palm rested on the side of her cheek. “Never again,” he said, his voice low.
She held his eyes, waiting for something to pass through them that would bring her back to solid ground, because she was sinking fast. She was anchored to him, and she was sinking. But nothing in his eyes told her anything other than the words he just spoke.
She sighed and leaned her face into his hand. She was done fighting it. She might hate herself for this down the road, hell, she might hate herself for this in the morning, but she didn’t care anymore.
His lips pulled up ever so slightly as she molded her check to his palm. Before she could even register what had happened, he had his hand wrapped around hers and was pulling her toward his apartment.
A slight thrill washed over her from the intensity of his movements. Urgent, determined. No more words were spoken between them—and the silence alone spoke volumes. What was there to be said that wasn’t being told in the way his fingers curled around her hand, the way he led her up the walkway, making sure to keep little distance between their bodies, or the way he looked at her from the side, as if her very presence was rocking him.
When Reed stepped up to his door, she leaned against his back, her hand still held firmly in his. She waited patiently behind him as he fumbled for his keys and turned the lock. He stepped inside and Meagan’s feet helplessly followed—a marionette to her puppeteer.

BLOG TOUR ♥ Take It All, By Emma Grayson

image

*SYNOPSIS*
***Inspired by true events***

imageJudy Garland said it best, ‘For it was not into my ear you whispered but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed but my soul.’
If you asked her why she loved him, she would only be able to tell you it was because he was who he was and well, she was who she was.
Plain and simple.
All her life Lennox Ward felt incomplete. That her heart was always searching for that one special thing; that special someone she had yet to find.
Then Caleb Kingston came strolling back into her life unexpectedly, and little did she know her world was about to come crashing down around her; forever shattering it.
Is love enough to conquer all?
Will she be able to lead them out of hell and off their path of self destruction?
Or will Caleb take it all?

*EXCERPT*
“Hey guys, do you know where Caleb is?” she asked, looking between the two of them. They shot each other a look that she found unsettling but pushed it aside. “Do you?”
“He’s–”
“Amb,” Alex cut her off with a sharp tone and stony eyes.
Amber looked from Lennox to Alex, then gave him a remorseful look before turning her attention back to Lennox, saying, “A few of his and Ty’s buddies showed up, so they’re all in Caleb’s room. I’m sorry Lennox.”
She looked back at her then Alex who was avoiding eye contact all the while shaking his head unimpressed, “Sorry for what?” she asked, confused having no idea what was going on.
“Caleb’s a great guy, and you seem like a great girl who makes him happy but he’s…” Amber trailed off, unable to say the words.
Lennox backed away from the table looking at the two, her face twisted; having a feeling she knew what they were trying to tell her. She turned on her heels and headed for Caleb’s room. She thought she had it figured out, all the weird moments with him over the last couple weeks; the short calls, the way he would act so distant one day then so close the next, the gifts, all of it was out of guilt. Guilt from cheating on her, it was the only thing that made sense; what else could there be.
As she walked down the hall and past the bathroom, she came to Caleb’s bedroom door that was closed. She knew it was never closed, unless they were in there during one of their hot and heavy make out sessions. Standing in front of the door, her heart began to pound in her chest and it was all she could hear rushing through her ears. Her whole body began to shake as images of him with another girl flashed through her mind. She didn’t know what she was going to do after catching him but she was unable to think that far ahead when her hand gripped the handle and turned; slowly pushing open the door.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. Title: Long Road Home

Genre: Romance, Suspense
Tour Host:Lady Amber's Tours

Synopsis:
“The Long Road Home” Is a story about family, first love, betrayal & secrets.

What if someone took away everything that you ever cared about?

What if one by one you were stripped of everything you ever knew until there was nothing left?

What if you didn't even realize what was happening to you, because it was by the hands of one man, one man who was driven by obsession to possess you, to own you.

Christina never believed in love at first sight, until she met Michael. In the span of one summer, Christina finds her soulmate only to have him suddenly torn from her life, her father is set up for a crime he didn’t commit, and her best friend Lani is swept up into a fairy tale of her own. Christina suddenly finds herself alone and vulnerable, with only one person left to turn to, Logan. Little by little she begins to fall under his spell.
Logan will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and what he has wanted all along is Christina. He has managed to worm his way into her life, separate her from everyone she cares about, and steal the life she was meant to have with someone else.
In a series of shocking events, the truth starts to unravel, and the true Logan Harrington is discovered for who he really is. Christina's friends fight for her to uncover the truth, and free herself from his web of deception. Will she piece the truth together, or will she succumb to his delusional lies?
Excerpt:
Logan walked into the kitchen, looked directly into Michael’s face, and grinned just to antagonize him.
“Is there a problem, Michael?”
“What’s your game, man?”
Logan took a step closer and cocked his head to the side.
“I don’t think I understand. Whatever do you mean, Michael?”
“Oh, you know damn well what I’m talking about. Why is it that every time I turn my back you’re all over my girlfriend?”
Logan sneered at him as his tone suddenly changed.
“What are you going to do, pal? You’re going to be gone, won’t you? Who do you think is going to pick up the pieces of her broken heart? Game over, my friend, I win.”
It was all Michael needed to hear. He’d always known Logan was after Christina, but to hear it from his mouth was a totally different story. Michael took the dish he was holding, threw it across the room, and then lunged at Logan. The two of them threw punches and tore up the kitchen. Logan threw Michael over the kitchen counter, and with him, all the dessert dishes. Michael in turn shoved Logan into the kitchen table, and the table collapsed under Logan’s weight. Tiffany screamed out for help.
Christina came running at the sound of the commotion. Andrew and Daniel followed behind her. Andrew grabbed hold of Logan and tried to pull him away. Daniel grabbed onto Michael and pulled him to the opposite side of the kitchen. Logan laughed a mocking laugh as he wiped the blood off his mouth.
“You’re so fucking done, my friend. Get the hell out of my house before I call the cops.”
Michael pulled himself out of Daniel’s hold. He couldn’t help seeing the look of disappointment written on his face. He knew Daniel would side with Logan and not want to hear the truth of what happened.
Michael felt defeated. He stormed through the house and out the front door. Christina looked at Logan and shook her head.
“What the hell is wrong with you?”
Logan ran his fingers through his hair and smirked.
“Ask your boyfriend. He’s the one who threw the first punch. I caught him with his hands all over Tiffany.”
Tiffany let out a cry.
“How can you say that? That’s a lie.”
“Of course you’d say that, wouldn’t you? You’ve been pining over him for years, haven’t you?” Logan lashed out at her. Tiffany began to cry and ran out the back door.
Christina was torn. She looked around and noticed everyone was staring in their direction, so she ran to Logan’s room to retrieve her bag. Logan followed behind her and closed the door.
“Where are you going? Are you seriously going to leave knowing what that man just did?”
She pulled the strap over her shoulder.
“I can’t stay here. I have to find Michael.” She began to walk to the door when she stopped and looked at him. “How could you do this, Logan? If you really do care for me, you’d stop with all the games, and just accept that I love him.” She pushed past him and out into the hall.
“Good bye, Logan.” She slammed the door as she left. Lani grabbed her.
“Go… just go and find him. I’ll look after things here. Find him before he does something stupid.” Christina ran out the front door. Lani heard a loud crash from behind her. She opened Logan’s bedroom door just in time to see the hole that Logan had just put in the wall with his fist.
